I can’t put into words how much Leigh and Connor have done for my children’s music confidence and they are thriving.

Connor has given Isaac the knowledge and confidence to already be performing in front of people and is loving it. He’s only been having lessons 2 months and is learning new songs in a matter of days.
Emmi has been having piano lessons with Leigh and she loves it and is practicing at home every day learning her favourite pop songs.

We are so grateful to totaleigh music as a family and would recommend them to anyone who is thinking about learning an instrument or loves to sing. 🎤🎸🎹🎼 thank you guys.

I cannot recommend Leigh highly enough - both my girls have thoroughly enjoyed their lessons with Leigh over the last couple of years. Leigh really has kept their interest in music alive; she has been so encouraging and adaptable. With here incredible talent and unbelievable range of skills, she taught them guitar, piano, ukulele, recorders, flute and now baby sax. She has a gentle and encouraging approach and the girls come home buzzing after every lesson, we couldn’t ask for much more, Thank you!
— Crona H.
My two sons have been having lessons for over a year. Leigh is warm, kind, patient, encouraging and inspiring. Their confidence has grown hugely, they love the lessons and despite not always wanting to practice they always want to go to lessons. I highly recommend her.
— Jill C.
Leigh is a wonderful. Everything is explained in a way that’s easy to understand and Leigh makes the lessons enjoyable too.

Our son has autism and struggles to concentrate, Leigh is understanding and very patient with him, 6 weeks in and he really looks forward to his lessons each week.

He’s learnt more in that time than a years lessons he’s had at school previously. Would highly recommend!
— Tammie B.
I would highly recommed Leigh as a music teacher. My daughter has been having piano lessons with her for about a year and a half and she really enjoys Leigh teaching her. She has progressed so much in this time. Leigh is patient and really takes the time to make sure she understands. She really is a great teacher!
— Becky L.
I’m a complete sax novice and recently had my first lesson with Leigh, she is incredible. Very warm, welcoming, calm and knowledgeable. She gave me the confidence I needed and I can now make some beautiful sounds!
— Jenny W.

— Ross T.
Leigh is not just a talented and amazing music teacher and musician.
She really cares about each and every client or student and goes above and beyond to help them learn, bring out their talents and love for music. Highly recommended for tuition and live gigs.

My husband and I have been enjoying lessons with Leigh for about 18 months now. Leigh is so patient with us. She has an amazing amount of musical experience and makes her lessons very enjoyable. My husband has taken up banjo and saxaphone in his retirement and looks forwards to his weekly lessons. I have gone back to playing violin after about 40 years and am of a higher standard than I was when I played in Leeds intermediate schools orchestra already. I have also started to learn treble recorder and working towards grade 4, plus music theory lessons also I am progressing through the grades. zoom lessons have been invaluable through lockdown and in Leighs home studio a safe environment when able to do face to face.

I would recommend Leigh to anyone young or older new learner or returner to have a go...you’ll love it... update April 2021. we continue to love our lessons each week with Leigh. Keith is doing well with banjo and has had his first face to face lesson in the Totaleigh Music studio. I am now working towards grade 5 violin and recorder, awaiting sitting grade 5 theory exam, and have also started having lessons in clarinet, piano and classical guitar. Leigh is expanding her student base and it won’t be long before she can hold student concerts, build string and wind groups etc. This is all down to her lifetime dedication to music and making every lesson enjoyable and positive.

Thanks for the inspiration Leigh.

Feeling great, just had a singing lesson with Holly Morris. Holly makes lessons fun and is so encouraging so you can be the best you can. Singing releases feel good endorphins, everyone should have a go!
— Susan G.
Kai has definitely inspired her and she has been choosing to go and play the riffs he’s given her - and they’re ones we mostly recognise and enjoy listening to as well, so thumbs up all round.
— R Hansford.
A collaboration of the best musicians in the area brought together by the ringmaster - Miss Leigh! Congratulations on a wonderful event, you set the bar very high, again!

My two have started lessons recently with Leigh. She is very experienced and this is clearly seen in the quality of the lessons she delivers.

She has quickly built a great relationship with them. She makes the lessons fun and interesting and builds their confidence. She is patient.

My two adore their new music teacher and can not wait for their weekly lesson.
— Awel Haf.
As an older student I have found Leigh to be patient and teaches at a pace that suits the individual , I can certainly recommend Leigh for anybody wishing to take up an instrument, just brilliant.
— Rob B.
Throughout my youth, I part learned many instruments, However through several episodes of movement I never had the opportunity to stay anywhere long enough to learn to play with any level of competence.

Now much later in life, through the patient and inspirationaL guidance that Leigh has and continues to offer me. I am truely rediscovering the love and joy of playing my flute.

They say you should never never stop learning in life. With the right guidance and such an inspirational teacher as Leigh certainly is my love of music has and continues to reach another higher level.
— Ian F.
What an amazing teacher, kind, loving, caring and truly incredible!

Leigh was my music teacher in school, and I’ve had the pleasure of doing my own teaching as well! But unfortunately in March last year I was diagnosed with MS, (multiple sorosis) which left me paralysed on the right side of my body, unable to speak unable to do anything.

MS has made me forget most things about music. (Memory fog) I’m currently spending the lock down trying to remember things that I should know!!!
Thank you so much, Totaleigh Music Leigh Matthews for everything you have done for me, for re-teaching me music again. You are truly remarkable and multi-talented, I love you soooo much!!!! I would highly recommend!
— Rebecca Marie.
I already play guitar and have done for over 10 years. I contacted Leigh wanting to learn some new instruments and within a few weeks I have already picked up the ukulele, started on keyboard and beginning with Banjo! On top of that, I’ve learned more about the theory of music (which always confused me). Totaleigh music is 100% worth the money, it is affordable and in return you get the knowledge of playing an instrument, even a couple of songs, that could last a life time!

Leigh is patient, explains things in a simple way, friendly, and the studio is lovely and comfortable!
If anybody is interested in any instrument listed, seriously get in touch with Leigh! You will not be disappointed.
— Sam P.
Leigh was my teacher 20 years ago when I was a total novice having never picked up a guitar before. We struck up a good relationship, so much so that when she moved away, I didn’t want another teacher and my playing ‘stalled’. Since Leigh launched her online lessons in 2020, I have resumed and am loving it. Leigh never puts any pressure on me to do more than I feel capable of but encouraging me to take a step forward each time. Lessons are fun, fun, fun and I can’t recommend her enough.
— Chris E.
Well where do I start. Amazing, amazing and even more amazing Leigh and all the other tutors are!
— Katie Humpty Dumpty.
I’ve just had a Uke group session with Holly. I really enjoyed playing as a group.
I’ve never played a musical instrument before and never with other people.
Thanks so much Leigh for creating this wonderful opportunity for local people to enjoy making music!
— Annie.
What a fantastic day Sunday turned out to be, in spite of the torrential rain! Outstanding performance at The Slipway (Leigh, Holly, Connor, Chris and Adrian, followed by a talented band (poorly attended due to weather.) but active audience participation enlivened the night! Thank all for brightening a very depressing/oppressing day!
— Ian.
Thank you so much Sue for teaching Georgia, she can’t believe she’s done so much already. I think it’s wonderful!
— Julia.

— Jayleigh W.
Leigh and her musicians are amazing in every way. Enthusiasm, musicality, willingness to learn & be part of the community here in Aberdyfi/Tywyn area is very commendable. I recommend Totaleigh Music wholeheartedly. 5 Stars!
— Rhian C.
I learn things much better if I can ask lots of questions and Kai was just brilliant in allowing me to do this and answering them in a way I can get to grips with. Kai is a fantastic asset to Totaleigh music.
— Glenn G.
My 7 year old had his first drum lesson yesterday & was absolutely buzzing from it. He said he played “all the drums” & can’t wait to go back again. Thank you Jake
— Miranda T.
He’s come home saying he wants to start drums again! Said he loves working with Jake!
— Lisa S.

— Liz K.

Helped out at the trainee ensemble then played ukulele in The Ukeleighleighs, guitar in The Fretted String Orchestra and Violin with Tywyn Symphony Orchestra. Also played in Flute Troupe. Clarinet Choir, Samba Band finally saxophone in Saxy Brass Beats. Hugely rewarding day
— S Griffith.
Just a quick email to say a proper thankyou to both yourself and Holly for playing today: we are very grateful. It was a lovely atmosphere in the museum: very chilled, and just right for a Saturday afternoon. Lots of people were saying how incredible your voices are as they walked through the shop/ticket office afterwards.
— Phil. B
Hi Leigh, just wanted to say well done and thank you for a fab evening last night! So much talent for such a small area, and so important for younger children to have experiences of performing in front of an audience and on stage!

— N. Baylis
I looked at the performers and the seemingly endless bits of kit, as well as the musical arrangements, the hundreds of years of musical skill you have between you and felt the enormous amount of organisation and attention to detail you have assembled.
AND, this is just one facet of your lives.

I really appreciate that behind the product of the performance there is a hidden iceberg of effort spanning a lifetime.

My congratulations on your performances as well as giving the younger members of the show a fabulous opportunity.
— P. Taylor
