Have you always wanted to play in an instrumental ensemble or sing in a choir? Well you are in luck. There are a wide range of excellent musical groups to join no matter your instrument of choice or music taste.
Check out the available groups below and speak to Leigh if you are interested in joining.
WEEKLY THROUGHOUT THE YEAR
MONDAYS 1.00pm – 2.00pm
BARBERSHOP CHORUS with choral director Connor
A cappella 4-part singing group for adults using close harmonies and catchy melodic lines. Previous singing experience is required. Music notation will be used in the sessions, but reading music, although advantageous is not essential as guidance will be given.
£6 per person per session.
TUESDAYS 12.00pm – 1.00pm
MUSIC THEORY for ADULTS with tutor Leigh
Learn the language of music. Study the rudiments and learn the fundamentals of rhythm, harmony and melody. Apply the knowledge to create your own music and develop an understanding of music to aid practical music making.
£6 per person per session.
TUESDAYS 1.00pm – 2.00pm
UKE GROUP with musical director HollY
A fun group for adults who enjoy singing and playing the ukulele. Beginners are also welcome, and instruments can be provided free of charge.
£6 per person per session.
WEDNESDAYS 4.00pm – 5.00pm
THE TOTALEIGH MUSIC PROJECT with tutors Connor & Kai
Build a Band sessions for children aged 16 years and under. Reading music not required.
£3 per person per session by invitation/audition/teacher recommendation.
FRIDAYS 12.30pm – 1.30pm
CLARINET CHOIR / FLUTE TROUPE with musical director Leigh
These groups run on alternate weeks – so each group is held fortnightly. ALL ages and abilities welcome. Flutes only for FLUTE TROUPE & Clarinets only for CLARINET CHOIR.
£6 per person per session.
FRIDAYS 1.30pm – 2.30pm
CLASSICAL GUITAR GROUP for ADULTS with musical director Leigh
A relaxed group for adults who play classical guitar. Beginner to advanced players welcome as the music is arranged to suit all ability levels. Reading standard music notation is required.
£6 per person per session.
WEEKLY WEDNESDAYS TERM TIME ONLY
5.30pm – 6.30pm
TOTALEIGH MUSICAL THEATRE with tutors Connor & Holly & teaching assistant Tabby
Explore the art of storytelling, character development, dance, singing and stage presence with tutors qualified and experienced in 3 disciplines – music, drama & dance. A fun group for children aged 8+ who want to develop performance ability whilst making new friends, building confidence and enhancing communicative skills.
£3 per person per session.
6.30pm – 7.30pm
SINGING STARS with conductor Leigh, vocal coaches Connor & Holly, piano accompanist Lisa
Mixed Voice Choir – ages 14+ to adult. ALL abilities welcome. Reading music, a bonus but not essential.
£3 per person per session.
7.30pm – 8.30pm
TYWYN SILVER BAND with conductor Leigh & brass coach Bob
A traditional brass band set up for brass players of ALL ages and abilities including complete beginners. Learn to play as you become part of the band. Instruments provided on free loan.
£3 per person per session
FIRST SUNDAY OF EVERY MONTH

TTE TYWYN TRAINEE ENSEMBLE with conductor Leigh & assistant conductor Sue
For young beginners, ages 4-13 years. ALL instruments.
FREE.
11.00am – 12.30pm
TFSO TYWYN FRETTED STRING ORCHESTRA with conductor Leigh
A large ensemble for acoustic guitars, ukuleles, banjos and mandolins. ALL ages welcome. Musicians need to be able to read either standard notation or tablature.
£3 per person per session.
12.30 - 1.00pm
THE UKULEIGHLEIGHS
A fun group for those who enjoy singing and playing the ukulele. ALL ages and abilities.
£3 per person per session.
1.30pm – 3.00pm
TCO TYWYN CHAMBER ORCHESTRA with conductor Leigh
A traditional orchestral set up – with string, brass, woodwind and percussion sections. Musicians need to be able to read standard music notation and be Grade 2+ in ability level. ALL ages welcome.
£3 per person per session.
3.00pm – 4.00pm
TYWYN’S TOTALEIGH TOOTERS with conductor Leigh
This wind band is for those who play woodwind and brass instruments. Musicians need to be able to read standard music notation. Multi-instrumentalists are welcome to bring several wind instruments to these sessions. ALL ages and abilities welcome.
£3 per person per session.

SWN SAMBA SOUNDS SAMBA BAND with band leader Leigh
Fun for all the family and no previous musical experience necessary. Come along and play some carnival beats.
